I've been saving up gift cards to the local big box book store and have about 250 bucks worth now. Time for a shopping spree, ya? I've been paralyzed by indecision for two weeks now. I need help selecting books.
So, if you could recommend only one book to someone, which one would you choose? The one book you'd put into a time capsule or shoot off into space. THE book. Lets forget about stuff that's already in the public domain for this exercise. I know that cuts off a lot of classics, but they're free online, so I'm not going to spend money on them (already read most of them anyway). |

I'm going to say Ender's Game. It's a great series, but that book just stands on its own. I read it when very young and it still has an appeal that is ageless.
