Theious	1. Le 14/07/2010 à 01:01 So I wanted to get a thread started up to document exactly what parts of the AQ Scepter of the Shifting Sands quest line are utterly broken in Cataclysm. If you play in the Beta, please document what parts you can verify are broken in this thread. This will be a good way to bring awareness to everyone to get it done before Cata if they truly want to get it done Update 1: Thx to those who are contributing :) This is turning into good documentation. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 2: Based off the information that is being gathered in the thread, I have noted on the right side of each quest name if it is broken or removed in the Cataclysm Beta. If something is labeled as BROKEN, REMOVED, or both, I will be updating with why. Chain 1) What Tomorrow Brings [REMOVED - No clue why it was removed] 2) Only One May Rise (Blackwing Lair raid) [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 3) The Path of the Righteous (repeatable quest) [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 4) Anachronos (available at neutral Brood of Nozdormu rep) [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 5) Long Forgotten Memories [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 6) A Pawn on the Eternal Board [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 7) The Charge of the Dragonflights [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] --- To continue the chain you need to collect the Green, Red and Blue Scepter Shards --- Green Scepter Shard 1) Eranikus, Tyrant of the Dream 2) Tyrande and Remulos 3) The Nightmare's Corruption (outdoor raid) [BROKEN - NPC's no longer elite, appears loot tables dont drop item anymore] 4) The Nightmare Manifests (outdoor raid) [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 5) The Champion Returns [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] Red Scepter Shard 1) Nefarius's Corruption (Blackwing Lair raid) Blue Scepter Shard 1) Azuregos's Magical Ledger [REMOVED - The Azergos's NPC is completely gone AND the NPC has changed locations, so yaaa... ] 2) Translating the Ledger requires you to collect the following: 2.1) Narain's Scrying Goggles [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] a) Stewvul, Ex-B.F.F. [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] b) Scrying Goggles? No Problem! (Molten Core raid) [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 2.2) 500 Pound Chicken [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] a) Never Ask Me About My Business [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] b) The Isle of Dread! (outdoor raid) [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] c) Dirge's Kickin' Chimaerok Chops [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] d) Return to Narain [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 2.3) Draconic For Dummies: Volume II [REMOVED - Pre-req is gone] a) Draconic for Dummies [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] b) rAnS0m [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] c) Decoy! [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] d) The Only Prescription [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 3) The Good News and The Bad News [BROKEN - Pre-req is gone] 4) The Wrath of Neptulon (outdoor raid) [BROKEN/REMOVED - Pre-req is gone AND the raid boss location is where the new Island in the bay is] --- Once Green, Red and Blue Scepter Shards are turned in, the following becomes available --- Conclusion 1) The Might of Kalimdor (*** Awards: Scepter of the Shifting Sands *) 2) Bang a Gong! [REMOVED - Gone a long while now, no change for this really] (available only within the first 10 hours of the gates opening; awards the Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal mount and the Scarab Lord title) 3) Treasure of the Timeless One [REMOVED - No clue why it was removed]**
Bornakk	2. Le 08/10/2010 à 02:14 I believe the quest chain will still work in patch 4.0.1. It will definitely be gone when the world shatters though.

Le 08/10/2010 à 02:49 Q u o t e: As a holder of the Scepter of the Shifting Sands, would it be better to hold onto the scepter (on the assumption it will never magically disappear) or finally bang that gong and collect its reward if that is likely to become the feat of strength. The quest you are referring to will probably be removed when the world shatters, but it's your call. :)

"*Bornakk, the Destroyer of Hopes*" :( Cataclysm is bringing a lot of changes to the game. If your hopes lay with the past, I will destroy them to build a better future. Therefore, I will not argue with this title.

I checked the relevant NPC's and none have quests, but I want to make sure I've done what's needed to get the FOS, as it would be dissapointing if I failed to finish it and just can't find the correct NPC. Go through every step in the quest and see if any of the NPCs still give you a quest... ? Did you hang on to one of the possible rewards from the final step?

Are you going to reward the ones who actually opened the gates for their server more. The reasons in the past were that you didn't want to put resources into it. We still exist I know with the Archaeology mount and the achievement and not integrating the AQ bug/Atiesh (i know they aren't obtainable any longer but it could have been worded to reward those guilds with them still [Have atleast 6 of the Legendaries listed below for example]) into the legendary achieve somehow are all fine and dandy, but maybe you could throw us some love. I've only been answering the same whisper with macros for almost 5 years. Hey maybe you could do us Scarab Lords a favor and give us a unique model for it finally. Or hey maybe it could make some noise other than the falling noise it makes when it lands. Maybe you were hoping the original AQ openers had all moved on to other things... This may be a rant, but I remember and I still have a video of when it transformed into a flying wasp in flying zones on the PTR. It was labeled as a bug and removed but it worked perfectly... If you are encouraging guilds to run old zones again for guild achieves why not give some reward to those still with old legendaries. Cosmetic is all I'd be asking. I'd post it but I don't want my photobucket acc looked through by the masses. <3 yah Blizz been with yah since Warcraft Orcs and Humans and still haven't been lucky enough to get a beta invite. So the unique ground mount, unique title, and unique feat of strength aren't enough? This will probably come off the wrong way, but the other people just wanted something/anything for completing this long questline and you feel that you need another unique reward for something that was completed 4ish years ago?

However, most of the player do not even look at other's Feat of Strength, how does this make thoese people who completed this quest unique? You only look unique if you have something that stands out. I.e. legendaries. Maybe you can give us a last chance to obtain the "Scarab Lord" title before all quests will be removed at patch 4.03? :) We don't feel just completing this quest line should give you something permanently unique. The feat of strength is a nod to this epic quest line and for those who worked all the way through it. It isn't as awesome as a title or a legendary and it isn't meant to be. Also, I guess I'm just a little weird as I often compare feats of strength as I feel those matter more than achievements.
