So I downloaded the Battle.net System Check from the Battle.net beta preferences panel. Upon submitting my system specifications the program says:

There was a problem sending your system information to Battle.net. Please check your internet connection, close all applications an try again. For further assistance please visit Batlte.net.

Then it takes me to this page: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article.xml?locale=en_US&articleId=26886

I am definitely connected to the internet and not behind a proxy or firewall.

If you are having problems sending the Opt-in information, please, try deleting the cookies from your browser of choice:

Safari: (This is rather heavy-handed, true, but it will get the job done.)
- Click "Safari" then "Reset Safari."
- Uncheck everything except "Remove all cookies"
- Click "Reset"

Alternately, you can pick & choose the cookies to remove by going into Safari -> Preferences -> Security and clicking the "Show Cookies" button.

Firefox:
- Go into Firefox -> Preferences -> Privacy
- Click "Show Cookies..."
- Delete any Blizzard-related cookies that show up with "opt" as a search.

Also: When you click on the Download under the Create a Beta Profile page, it will download the SystemCheck_enUS.zip file to your computer. Once this is done you have 30 minutes to open the .zip and launch the SystemCheck_enUS.app before you receive this error "There was a problem sending your system information to Battle.net. Please check your internet connection, close all applications and try again". If you do receive this error and the above steps do not resolve the issue, please remove all of the SystemCheck_enUS folder and the SystemCheck_enUS.zip, and try the download again.

Finally, try removing any security software you may have installed as this can block the outgoing message.
